Q. What is Cold Creek Wellness Center's program?

A. Cold Creek Wellness Center provides comprehensive treatment to persons with all types of addiction. Because everyone is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to treating addiction. Accordingly, we utilize a wide variety of the most proven and successful treatment models and therapies. Our program is based upon the Bio-Psycho-Social and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment models. These models view addiction as a disease while taking in to consideration that there are Biological, Psychological, and Sociological factors to consider when treating addiction. Within these models we utilize the following types of therapy: Individual and Daily Group Counseling, Experiential Therapy, Equine Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art, Music, Yoga, Exercise, and Sauna Detoxification Treatments, Twelve Step meetings, and "The Work" by Byron Katie. This approach allows our specially trained staff to address the complex needs of individuals with co-occurring disorders. In addition, our addiction counselors measure each client's progress as they complete specific stages in the recovery process.

We offer a positive, healthy and safe environment where clients' physical, intellectual, medical, nutritional, spiritual and emotional needs are cultivated. In this setting assisted by trained counselors and specialized therapies, opportunities of self-awareness, healing and recovery emerge. This empowers clients to see themselves and their relationships from a new and clear perspective. Through the integrity of taking responsibility for personal choices, clients learn to free themselves from the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that have underserved them in the past. At Cold Creek you take the first step in recovering the life you were meant to live.

Q. What ages do you serve?

 A. We treat adult men and women, ages 18 years and older, with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Q. What about the staff?

 A. We have a well-trained staff of educated professionals who are prepared to meet the unique needs of each client. Our treatment team consists of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed counselors, therapists, addiction counselors, experiential therapists, a clinical director and our fantastic executive chef. All of our staff is first aid and CPR certified.

Q. I have received treatment before and it didn't do any good. What will be different this time?

A. Clients who come to Cold Creek Wellness Center have often been through multiple treatment programs. We strongly believe that it is not the person who fails a treatment program, but that the past treatment programs have not been appropriate or suitable for the person. We pride ourselves in providing appropriate and compassionate support to every client.

That being said, a client's willingness to be well and to take responsibility for his or her own recovery impacts their progress. Clients who have had multiple prior treatment episodes may require a longer length of stay.

Q. How can my family participate in Family Therapy Program if they do not live in Utah?

A. By utilizing multimedia technology such as video and teleconferencing, families from out of state can participate in our family therapy programs.

Q. How long will I stay in the program?

A. The Inpatient Residential Treatment portion of the program is a minimum of 45 days. The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program is a minimum of 90 days. However, keep in mind treatment at Cold Creek Wellness Center depends on the individual. Throughout treatment the clinical team monitors your progress; if you are unable to meet your goals within the standard 45 day timeframe then we will recommend that you extend your treatment. Sometimes extensions are essential to helping some clients to make a successful recovery. You will work closely with your counselor to continue receiving a level of care that is appropriate.

Your commitment to treatment ensures that we have adequate time to work with you throughout your journey at Cold Creek.

Q. I have unique dietary needs. Will this be a problem?

A. Cold Creek Wellness Center only serves meals that are healthy and delicious. All of our meal plans are approved by a nutritionist. We will cook specialized foods for individuals with unique medical conditions. In addition, we are willing to accomodate other preferential diets for clients who are vegetarian, vegan or have religious dietary requirements.

Q. What items can I bring into treatment?

A. Prior to entering Cold Creek Wellness Center we will provide you with a packing list specifically detailing what you should bring and what you should leave at home.

Clients who are participating in Residential Treatment can do their laundry weekly; therefore, we ask that you pack clothing for at least seven days.

Additional house and personal items will be detailed in the packing list. Clients may bring items such as cell phones, MP3 players, IPods, and books; however the use of these items is subject to approved times listed on the schedule. Additional use and unique circumstances must be approved by your counselor. Valuables are stored securely; however, we discourage bringing expensive jewelry and or personal items into treatment.

Q. Will I have a roommate?

A. Cold Creek Wellness Center offers rooms with one or two occupants. Rooms are assigned based on what is clinically appropriate for each client. Single rooms require an additional charge. All double rooms have full size beds and single rooms have queen size beds.

Q. Will my insurance cover the cost of my treatment?

A. Cold Creek Wellness Center does accept insurance reimbursement through most major carriers; however, insurance rarely covers the entire cost of treatment. As a courtesy to you, we will contact your insurance company to determine your available benefits and the associated out of pocket costs. We will advocate for you to receive as much insurance reimbursement as your benefit and authorization permits, however, please remember that our professional relationship is with you and not with your insurance company. Additional associated costs will be your responsibility and we kindly request that payment arrangements be confirmed prior to admission.

Q. What if I have no insurance?

A. We accept cash, check and credit card. Those who are interested may also apply for financing through Clark Behavioral Health Financing. In addition some clients have received help from church groups, family members, and other organizations in which they have membership. Our staff will work with you to determine the cost of treatment.

Treatment is an investment in your life and the life of those that you love.
